Hey guys. I've been noticing that I have started to see a few failures to extract with my Ceiner bolt.
I took the extractor out and stretched the spring a little to give it a little more push on the extractor.
But while I had it pulled, I noticed the edge of it was a little rounded. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be somewhat rounded due to the way the bolt is shaped or not.
I'll post the best picture I can of it, but I was wondering if any of you guys could pull your bolt and could look at it to see if the lip edge that grabs the casing was straight across or kinda half moon shaped as well.
If it is straight, I can order a new extractor and/or extractor spring from Rick Kuehl easily enough, but I wanted to make sure it's bad before I did because it may've just been the extractor spring getting a little weak.
Thanks guys.

John A, it appears that the rounded portion should be there to account for the roundness of the .22LR case. if that area were to be flat it appears the extractor would grab less of the case rim. make sence? _________________ If you dont want to stand behind our Troops, then feel free to stand in front of them

Thanks for comparing yours 103.
Yeah it makes sense, and is why I wanted to ask first before getting a new extractor.
When it warms up, I'll be giving it a good workout, and hopefully, it was just the extractor spring beginning to show some wear.
Where I stretched it some, should give it a little more tension and hopefully remedy the problem with the occasional failures to extract.
If that doesn't work, I'll try another spring (like a selector detent spring) cut to length. I'm sure that'll give it plenty of pinch power _________________

You're right. I didn't expect that it would be a permanent fix. Just a temp while I troubleshoot it. I'm also going to try a different brand of ammo to see if it's related to that.
I can get basically every "wearable" ceiner part available, so I'll probably just get almost everything while I'm at it since who knows when I may need them later on. Especially since only a handful of people would deal with stocking such parts.
The extractor, extractor spring, firing pin, firing pin spring, recoil spring and a spare pin and shipping is about $35, so that's likely what I'll do. _________________

| I have a CMMG kit that is basically a Ciener kit relabeled. I have shot about 1100 rounds (only about 4 jams total) through the kit now and my extractor looks like that too. |

Thanks Cartmann.
I've found that mine is somewhat ammo sensitive.
I've used it since and the aguila 60 grainers have had no failures.
The bulk packs, still have some failures occasionally, but not as often as they were. _________________
